Summer Reading Assignments

Summer reading is an opportunity to explore texts that enhance our understanding of the themes of the human experience, perseverance, and leadership.

This year we will employ a grade-level Summer Reading model, and we look forward to incorporating these texts into our Social Studies and English courses during the first week of school in the form of objective assessments and free response writing prompts.

The selections are as follows:

Grade 9 – The Bridge of San Luis Rey – Thornton Wilder
Grade 10 – Above the Line: Lessons in Leadership and Life from a Championship Program –¬†Urban Meyer
Grade 11 – The American Revolution: A History – Gordon S. Wood
Grade 12 – 1984 – George Orwell

These books can be borrowed from your local library, purchased online or at your local bookstore.

Have a blessed summer, and happy reading!
