Benedictine’s Math Department is fortunate to have 10-year veteran Robert Ryan on staff at Benedictine High School. Many of you know him as Mathematics teacher & Department Chair & Engineering teacher.

We asked him to answer a few questions about himself. Learn a little more about Mr. Ryan below, and stop in room 201 to say hello!

Where did you go to college and how long have you worked here?

My bachelors degree is from Case Western Reserve University in Math and Economics, and my Masters of Education from John Carroll University.  I have been teaching for 10 years, all of them at Benedictine.

What is a favorite moment at Benedictine and what makes it special?

The FESTA is always a really great time.  BHS is a family like all of ours – we may have our differences and in the end, we band together.

Outside of school, what are your hobbies?

I enjoy bowling, volleyball, video & computer games, guitar, my aquariums and fish, fishing, trivia and cooking & baking.

What is your favorite quote?

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.” ― Albert Einstein

What is your favorite book?

The Drunkard’s Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives by Leonard Mlodinow

And tell us a fun fact about yourself?

Outside of the United States, I have visited eight countries.
