Benedictine is accredited by the Ohio State Department of Education and the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, and the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association. Each student carries a minimum of 6 credits in each semester.

Graduation Requirements
To receive a Benedictine diploma a student must pass Ohio’s State Testing requirements as found at: Class of 2018 and Beyond. As well as successfully complete a minimum 25 credits which includes:
- 4 years English (requiring 1 year American literature and 1 year of British literature)
- 3 years Social studies (requiring 1 credit World History, 1 Credit U.S. History, and 1 Credit U.S. Government)
- 4 years Mathematics (requiring the completion of Geometry and Algebra 2)
- 3 years Science (requiring Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
- 2 years the same Classical or Foreign Language
- 4 years Theology (1 for each year of attendance at BHS)
- ½ year Health
- 1 year Physical Education
- 2½ credits elective courses
- 1 year Fine Arts
- ½ credit Computer Applications I
- 25 credits Total
Academic Honors
Students will be designated at each semester grading period for the following academic honors:
- Summa Cum Laude: 4.000 & above GPA
- Magna Cum Laude: 3.600-3.999 GPA
- Cum Laude: 3.000- 3.599 GPA
