The Benedictine Music Department

boasts four performing ensembles, Music History and Theory class and a state-of-the-art Music Technology lab.

Jazz Band:

  • The premier instrumental ensemble
  • Audition only, for students with more than 2 years on an instrument
  • Performs at the Holiday and Spring Concerts
  • Travels to perform in Jazz Festivals; including St. Louis, Nashville, and New Orleans

Men’s Chorus:

  • The Premier vocal ensemble at Benedictine
  • Audition only
  • Performs at all concerts
  • Performs at fund raisers, and other events
  • Travels internationally to attend world-wide choral cultural exchange festivals; including
    Italy, Ireland, Wales, and England

Marching/Concert Band:

  • Performs at the Holiday and Spring Concerts
  • Performs at all football games
  • Performs in local parades
  • Open to all students
  • Travels to participate in performances, seminars, and workshops; including Nashville,
    St. Louis, and Washington D.C.

Music Technology:

  • 20 state-of-the-art Digital Audio Workstations on MACs
  • Uses garageband, and protools 11
  • Students explore music through composing, editing, mixing, producing, and performing music.

Choristers:

  • An introduction to choir
  • We develop the necessary skills and techniques of good musicianship.
  • Performs at the Holiday and Spring Concerts
